The Stall Gallery opens in Farmers’ Market

Bevin Bradley and Roberta Ross recently opened The Stall Gallery in Saskatoon and the gallery is off to a goodstart. About 200 people visit their space on most Saturdays.

The gallery is part of business development in the new Farmers’ Market, where a large number of people who are interested in art drop in, having stocked up onlocally-grown broccoli and organic bread.

Bevin Bradley and Roberta Ross feel River Landing is the perfect place for a gallery. “We love that the city is changing and this is a perfect place for an art gallery,” said Bradley, who along with Ross has opened The Stall Gallery.

“Our focus is on original painting, prints and photographs,”Ross said. They will have shows featuring local, national, and international artists.

Perhaps one of the most important signifiers of the health of a given city is (shockingly!) not the price currently being paid for property, but the cultural events, activities and opportunities that the aforementioned metropolis offers.This explains why the government of Newfoundland is vowing to make up for the brutal cuts to arts funding recently made by Steve “I like paintings of dogs playing poker” Harper in Ottawa – Newfoundland, at least, has realized that culture is also a money maker for the community at large.
